Child safety standards
Waylo is for adults 18 and over. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in the app or anywhere it’s used.
Our standards
- Adults only. Everyone must confirm they’re 18 or older to use Waylo. Accounts we believe belong to a minor are closed.
- Banned content and behaviour. Any content that sexualises a minor, any attempt to groom, contact or meet a minor, and any sharing of CSAM is banned. It leads to an immediate and permanent ban.
- Reporting to authorities. We report apparent CSAM and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant national and local authorities, and we keep the evidence they need.
- Design that protects people. People can only message each other after both have waved. Others only ever see a zone, never an exact location. Chats disappear when a visit ends, and home parties can only be joined with an invite code.
- Review. Our team reviews reports of child safety concerns first and acts on them as quickly as possible.
How to report a concern
- In the app: tap Report on a person’s profile, in a chat or on an activity, and choose “May be under 18”. Your report is private; the other person isn’t told who reported them.
- By email: write to kowais915@gmail.com. This is also our designated contact for child safety questions from the public, app stores and authorities.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Complying with the law
Waylo follows the child safety laws that apply where we operate, and cooperates with law enforcement on child safety investigations.
